Astrology for April 2006 by Susan Heinz, Astrologer
The Solar Eclipse in Aries on March 29th is our doorway into April. As we stretch to encompass a new vision of who we are in the Aquarian age, this eclipse can be a turning point and lasts for up to six months. Imagine, in the past, eclipses were regarded as dark omens, bringing fear and dread. As we bridge into the new age, even astrology sheds its skin.
Our understanding of the cosmos and our role in it is changing and must change for our survival. We begin to once again perceive the sacredness of life, its gift and its mystery. As we are thrown up against the edge of destruction, our ways of thinking begin to mutant to allow evolution to carry us into perception of the interconnectedness of all forms of life. We come to understand the solar system as a living intelligence in which we live and breathe, continually mirroring for us the laws of creativity and life. With the eclipse we witness the sun, earth and moon, align perfectly in space and time. This phenomenon illustrates for us the natural alignment of enlightened consciousness, the sun, with our subconscious, instinctual self, the moon, and our physical self and everyday reality, the earth. Every eclipse offers the timing to feel into the power of this alignment within ourselves. What is not in accord with the light of clear consciousness will be shown to us. As we choose to awaken at this time and reach out when we are moved to take action to assist that awakening this Aries eclipse reverberates with new beginnings for us over the next six months. With Mars opposing Pluto old issues arise to be stripped away for new growth. The light and dark sides of ourselves and others become exposed, setting the stage for a new beginning. The sun holds the dark moon in its ring of light.
This month continues to offer the timing for deep healing, to feel into all our contractions of self. It is the time to pull back the duties of life and really take a look at our quality of being, to examine where we are and what lead us to this place. We see this urge reflected in the American people awakening to the mistake of the war, a deepening of insight is taking place around our actions and aggression. It is a time of questioning right action.
The full moon takes place on April 13th, accentuating George Bush’s role in public eye. Again hidden issues come to light. Mars moves into Cancer, energizing the water signs, bringing up impulses that are partially conscious. April 18th brings unexpected situations in relationship with heated debate. The sun enters Taurus on the 19th, with Jupiter trining Venus softening our day with enjoyment, promoting creativity and love. The new moon takes place on the 27th in Taurus as we move into grounding what began in late March and early April. Take time to enjoy the spring and the beauty of this planet we live on.
