The New Year has opened with Mars in fiery Sagittarius causing great tension with the planet of crisis, Uranus, in Pisces, the sign of the sea. The Nodes have shifted from Taurus/Scorpio to Aries/Libra, pointing the way for a new direction in collective soul growth. We must take the initiative to pioneer new beginnings with courage. Jupiter in Libra goes retrograde in February squaring Saturn. This is a testing time of the momentum that began mid 2000, around collective values and our relationship to materialism. The square is a tempering process between over expansiveness, and clarity, precise focus to what is needed to create new foundations for humanity. Jupiter Saturn square will keep in check overly arrogant and idealistic philosophies.
The following is a perspective on 2005 for each of the 12 signs The Twelve Opportunities:
Aries (Mar 20-Apr 19): This is the year to take the initiative to create new beginnings, bring in new ideas and create leadership. You will be challenged to temper your actions and words by deliberation and detachment from taking things personally. Relationships will provide the means to purify unconscious impulses. As you are ready, transformation and change proceed rapidly. With the April 8 eclipses, be aware of interactions and practice patience. Summer, with Mars in Aries, will support activity and vitality. As the fall approaches Mars will retrograde. Slow yourself down, review planned actions, goals, values, monetary situations. With Mars in Taurus for 6 months you will have the ability to finish many projects.
Taurus (Apr 20-May 20): The beginning of the year focuses on achieving goals, hard work and clearing space for new situations to take root. You are learning the power of mind, thoughts and action. Much learning in the area of communication takes place as you work with others. During the eclipses of April be alerted to thoughtfulness in situations for the unconsciousness will have a tendency to voice itself. This year you will be balancing movement with inner depths of feeling, communication and teaching with retreat to explore driving inner forces. Travel is transformative. With Mars entering Taurus in June thru February, 2006 you will have lots of energy to accomplish and to apply concentrated focus to what you are devoted to.
Gemini (May 21-Jun 20): This year begins with a scrutiny of values causing a liberation from old ways of being and doing things. You take on an adventure for self discovery. Creativity that highlights your uniqueness continues. Spring brings travel, movement and excitement. You carefully estimate your spending powers. In the summer you reestablish yourself, find new relationships to your talents. Toward the end of the year a serious focus evolves, with clarity of how to bring the dream into form. You are best served to retreat for deeper understanding when Mars goes retrograde.
Cancer (Jun 21–Jul 21): You have had the challenge of Saturn for the last several years, challenging you to overcome doubts, and adding responsibilities. In July Saturn leaves the watery realms of Cancer, freeing you from its pressures. The year begins with domestic changes that bring opportunity. Spring focuses on your career/life purpose. Throughout the year the theme is balance. Balance of inner and outer life, home and work. You take new risks. Wisdom comes about through changes made. With Mars retrograde in October, you slow to review social situations and your contributions.
Leo (Jul 22- Aug 22): Aug 22): You begin the year reflecting on health and well-being, responsibilities and your working environment. The overall theme is on communicating your ideas to others through various means. You are in transition and are completing a cycle, to prepare for a new one. You will notice specific endings. Saturn moves into Leo in July, bringing you into the next phase of transition. New goals will shape the 2nd part of the year. You will receive a gift of deep connection and love.
Virgo (Aug 23-Sep 22): The year begins with focused activity and work, a drive to accomplish a goal. You deal with a number of obstacles. A defining process must take place now. You feel the possibilities to use your talents in new ways, to rely on new resources but you are working with continual reality checks, taking one step at a time. Summer is a break through point. New situations are arriving, new involvements. As Saturn moves into Leo you return to contemplate your creativity. Fall brings a new force into your life.
Libra (Sep 23-Oct 22): As the year begins your private life and social life continue to be of equal importance. You consider what you are creating and giving form to. You feel two steps forward and one step backward, forward outer movement to be balanced by deep silence and rest. The April eclipses bring relationship themes, revealing certain tensions to be understood and cleared. Balance between your needs and others, brings new awareness. As Saturn enters Leo in July, you create new goals and your social life shifts. This is a transformative year for you
Scorpio (Oct 23-Nov 21): You have been in a long period of transforming your sense of self, resources and talents. You are cooking into something new. Much alone time is required for this birth, which you will benefit from. This is the year to finish or take up that new study, bringing in new focus. In October you are blessed by Jupiter and doors open. Let yourself receive because your wish will be fulfilled. You come to understand a deep truth this year and experience the mystery of true connection.
Sagittarius (Nov 22-Dec 20): You begin the year sorting through things, clearing money issues, coming into new talents. You move from being oriented to fulfilling your work duties to bringing through your creative expression. You become involved with new groups and social circles. It is wise to practice moderation. You’re ability to set limits, and create quiet time is tested. Deep insights evolve. Though as a Sagittarius you feel that you are always devoted to putting your ideals into the practical world, this year is especially powerful for success.
Capricorn (Dec 21- Jan 19): This year begins with the strength of friendship and the challenge of partnership. Capricorns have been learning much about interrelationship. Some have faced their shadows, some have taken on new responsibilities and some have made deeper connections. You have reached a very stable place in your life. Let go of something so something else can enter your life. There are new opportunities for you in your career. You must make the choice to take hold of them. With Mars entering Taurus from July to February you have extra vitality, courage and energy for accomplishments.
Aquarius (Jan 20-Feb 17): The beginning of the year brings unexpected situations. You are faced with decisions to be straight forward or compassionate. Are you skillful enough to do both? This is the year to develop that dream, perhaps a vision, a change of home. You are very dedicated to your work, but don’t ignore your body this year. Teaching and travel is strong and favored this year. As Jupiter moves into Scorpio in October something opens up for you in your work. As Mars goes retrograde simultaneously, give attention also to your domestic situation.
Pisces (Feb 18-Mar 19): Change continues in the your life. Some Pisces feel as though all sorts of fears, hidden patterns, are revealing themselves. A clearing is needed. Reach out for professional help as needed. Build new boundaries for inner clarity and confidence. Some Pisces will really embody the creative inspiration and expression of Uranus. Their deep listening will bring forms and strategies into the world, affecting collective change, bringing guidance. This year you are given the chance to harness this energy. For some it will be quite a challenge quieting all those various voices calling your attention. As Saturn shifts signs in July a clear focus comes into view.
