As the sun moves into Capricorn, its most northern position, on the 21st, the light begins its journey of return and the darkness seeks retreat. We turn inward and strengthen our commitment to light, to the spiritual dimension and to visions and goals. Mars enters Aries on Dec 16, giving us a blast of energy to take action, while Mercury goes retrograde on Dec 17th at 12 Capricorn, (turning direct on Jan 6th.) This Mercury retrograde during the solstice and new year offers us an opportunity to attune to what’s really vital in our lives, families and communities. In 2004 the United States will be severely challenged in foreign policy with the cosmic intention to transform how we use our power. The Dec new moon is on the 23, while the 1st full moon of 2004 is in Cancer on Jan 7th.
The Twelve Opportunities for the first six months of 2004:
Aries (Mar 20-Apr 19): 2004 marks a time of moving away from something you’ve been involved in to allow expansion in others areas of interests. There will be refinement in skills and discipline to achieve your ends. You will reap rewards from this. There is a testing of your confidence or values about what you want your life to be. Family and home are important. Old issues may come up, so that forgiveness or new ways of responding may come into play. You will have tremendous energy, but you will need to be sensitive to others for success.
Taurus (Apr 20-May 20): This is a time of real efficiency and organization for you in your creative and work endeavors. Remember to balance work with enjoying your life because this can be a time of pure enjoyment of beauty, nature and friends. You are reevaluating your relationship with siblings and communication in general. This is a good time to focus on writing. New people enter your life and you take risks to bring yourself out to the world in innovative ways.
Gemini (May 21-Jun 20): This year will bring dramatic changes in your work. You feel inspired to branch out. Your innovations are recognized. Projects are finished at home and new ones begun. Careful reconsiderations of your money situations are highlighted. Venus retrogrades in Gemini this year, bringing focus on art, beauty, and relationship, deepening your relationship with what you truly value. Enjoyment can be heightened.
Cancer (Jun 21–Jul 21): There is a strong focusing on yourself and your career this year. Your fears and self doubt will be challenged to transform to courage and confidence. Your communications become more successful and any pursuit of writing will bring rewards. A teacher inspires you and gives you more responsibility in the teaching, performing arena.
Leo (Jul 22- Aug 22): 2004 is a year of refinement for you, a polishing of skills. It will be necessary to retreat and to commune with silence. You are in a transition in career and in your sense of identity. A new level of your talents surface. Money becomes more abundant. Various friendships are reviewed for their value and new friends enjoyed
Virgo (Aug 23-Sep 22): It’s time to expand yourself, to philosophize, to travel. Move with the Saturnian energy to focalize your goals and dreams of what you want for yourself over the next 30 years, then set your course. Be prepared for unexpected situations and inspirational people. Your relationships will demand change and creativity or they will bring separation.
Libra (Sep 23-Oct 22): Your life will be greatly enriched by your spirituality this year, your ability to be quiet and deeply listen. And yet you feel the pull of evermore things to do, responsibilities to attend to. You must call in the balancing energy of Libra to clear you path for health and well being. A wise person helps you to come to deeper understanding of your purpose and connection.
Scorpio (Oct 23-Nov 21): This is a year to anchor and build your family and home life. Fears and doubt surface to clear the way for greater love and acceptance. It is time to learn and deeply study. You find friends and groups to enjoy and share insights. Intimacy issues surface and new levels of harmony are experienced.
Sagittarius (Nov 22-Dec 20): Change is coming from deep within, change in your home, your family and how you relate to others. Life teaches you how to let go and be fully present. Issues around sharing emerge. The busyness at work continues until September when change favors you. An important love relationship is reviewed and renewed.
Capricorn (Dec 21- Jan 19): The determined, responsible Capricorn learns many lessons in relationship this year. Some teach you how to set limits, some teach how to soften and let go, some reflect back to you the skillfulness that you have with others. Teaching, publishing and travel are favored.
Aquarius (Jan 20-Feb 17): Your growth this year takes place through your intimate relationship. Sometimes you feel the tension of attuning to another to be so demanding. Yet there is a grounding that so clearly comes from the willingness you have to share with another. This year you discipline and focus yourself for the attainment of future goals. Creativity is enhanced.
Pisces (Feb 18-Mar 19): This is the year that you feel liberated from what has been. Your dreams and visions are not only important to you but also to others. You are on a mysterious journey and you meet other fellow travelers and omens that point the way. You enjoy new relationships and feel appreciative of your partner. Give yourself to a creative project, a love, a child.
